The title of Mr. Masashi Taniguchi's painting is "Color and Time." "Shichi-henge" (七変化), meaning "seven transformations," refers to a special color whose hue and brilliance seem to change. In nature, it is often compared to the morning and evening sky or jewels bathed in light, with multiple expressions hidden within a single color. The name "Shichi-henge" was chosen because it evokes the sense of changing beauty and depth.

Masanao Taniguchi

A chef and artist living in Fukuoka Prefecture. While cooking by the sea in Itoshima, she overlays images onto the scenery she sees, creating abstract paintings with the sea as their theme. Exploring the harmony of natural expressions and lines, she cherishes the commonality between painting and cooking—the act of "seeing, feeling, and experiencing"—aiming to create works that leave a lasting impression on the viewer.

About the frame (picture frame)

To reduce shape changes due to dryness and humidity, we use pine wood, which is processed from pine trees, as the core material, and an original frame wrapped with veneer that has a beautiful grain and is less prone to warping or cracking.

Natural wood (surface veneer) / Backboard MDF※1 / Transparent board PET※2

*1 A board made by pulverizing wood into a fibrous powder and then molding it. Because it utilizes wood resources effectively, including end pieces and thinned-out trees, it is known as an eco-friendly material with high recyclability.
*2 It has a similar transparency to glass but is extremely lightweight. Because it doesn't produce toxic gases when burned, it's a commonly used material for food containers such as PET bottles.

About poster paper.

Made with the thickest paper of Van Nuovo V-FS, a premium printing paper that achieves a high level of balance between the opposing qualities of excellent color reproduction and a pleasant paper texture, and is also FSC certified*. Its thickness makes it less susceptible to humidity and environmental changes, and it is also characterized by its resistance to warping and curling.

*FSC certification is a system that evaluates and certifies whether forest management and logging are carried out with consideration for the environment and local communities, and proves that a product originates from such forests (products made from properly managed forest timber). It is operated by FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®: headquarters in Germany), an NGO.
