Poster and frame size

Because butterflies transform from larvae to pupae to adults, they have been used as a motif in Japan to represent "immortality" and "eternity," appearing in family crests and kimono patterns. The butterfly depicted in embroidery in this poster spreads its wings majestically, conveying a sense of strength. *This poster is a print scanned from the original embroidery artwork. A work by Kuniko Nagasaki.

About the frame (picture frame)

To reduce shape changes due to dryness and humidity, we use pine wood, which is processed from pine trees, as the core material, and an original frame wrapped with veneer that has a beautiful grain and is less prone to warping or cracking.

Natural wood (surface veneer) / Backboard MDF※1 / Transparent board PET※2

*1 A board made by pulverizing wood into a fibrous powder and then molding it. Because it utilizes wood resources effectively, including end pieces and thinned-out trees, it is known as an eco-friendly material with high recyclability.
*2 It has a similar transparency to glass but is extremely lightweight. Because it doesn't produce toxic gases when burned, it's a commonly used material for food containers such as PET bottles.

About poster paper.

Made with the thickest paper of Van Nuovo V-FS, a premium printing paper that achieves a high level of balance between the opposing qualities of excellent color reproduction and a pleasant paper texture, and is also FSC certified*. Its thickness makes it less susceptible to humidity and environmental changes, and it is also characterized by its resistance to warping and curling.

*FSC certification is a system that evaluates and certifies whether forest management and logging are carried out with consideration for the environment and local communities, and proves that a product originates from such forests (products made from properly managed forest timber). It is operated by FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®: headquarters in Germany), an NGO.
